Thank you for your letter of 12 May, enclosing one
from your constituent Mr Lo Kam Loy of 4A Great George Street, Liverpool, L1 5EW, about land he owns in the New Territories in Hong Kong.
Mr Lo asked for compensation for his land which he
believes is to be used for the new airport. However, he claims to own land in Tung Chung were resumptions of land
have not yet begun. Owners of land registered with the Land Office will be notified in writing should their land
be resumed, and there are procedures by which Mr Lo can claim compensation should he be affected. The Hong Kong
Government have advised that Mr Lo should contact the New
Airport and Acquisition Division of the Building and Lands Department. The address is 2/F Murray Building,
Garden Road, Hong Kong. Mr Lo can write to them in
either English or Chinese.
