2. The procedures strike me as being excessively strict. information requested in 4.2 for example is far in excess of what is required at present. I wonder if anyone has actually asked themselves what they would do with the information, and why we should be putting a close ally to so much trouble.

Clearance procedures for visits by foreign military vessels and aircraft are usually dealt with by Foreign Liaison Section in MOD. I would suggest that a short meeting be held to discuss the procedures.
