"Dear!
Marsden,

SIGNED + SEFE BAL BY GE
ALLEGED BRITISH EXPORT OF IVORY FROM HONG KONG TO CHINA
1.
(20/11
I enclose a copy of a self-explanatory letter from a spokesman of the Green Party here, asking HMG to abandon an alleged plan to export 670 tons of ivory from Hong Kong to China.
2. Given the sensitivity of such issues, I would like to send a considered response to this letter but, of course, have none of the background information required to confirm or refute the suggestions made in Veyrac's letter. So far I have just sent a holding acknowledgement. I shall therefore be grateful for your advice as to how I should
reply.
3. My Office Directory appears to have misplaced the Environmental rump of what was MAED, so I enclose an extra copy of this missive to pass on, if appropriate.
