Amend the Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered Species)

Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

Short title and commencement

(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Animals and Plants

(Protection of Endangered Species) (Amendment) Ordinance 1990.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on 17 July 1990.

Issue and renewal of licences

Section 7(1) of the Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered

Species) Ordinance (Cap. 187) is amended by repealing "The Director"

and substituting "Subject to section 7B, the Director".

Section added

The following is added after section 7A

117B.

Restriction on Director's licensing power in respect of certain species

The Director shall not issue a licence under section 7(1) to

import or export an animal specified in the second column of Part

1 of the Sixth Schedule, an animal part of such an animal or a

plant specified in the second column of Part 2 of the Sixth

Schedule unless he is satisfied that
