Prices
The property market became relatively less
active in the first quarter of 1990, following a
sustained revival in the latter part of 1989.
and rentals of small to medium-sized flats and of
offices in prime locations generally held firm.
However, demand as well as prices and rentals for
other types of property soften. Some speculative
activities were observed in pre-completion sales of
residential flats, particularly in respect of some
large-scale developments. But the secondary market
for such flats was not very active.

The residential property market underwent a
degree of consolidation in the first quarter of 1990,
after a marked recovery in the latter part of 1989.
While prices and rentals for small to medium-sized
flats in popular developments were still on the
increase, though only marginally, those for large
flats seem to have levelled off. Trading was less
active than in the previous quarter.
