£ Buses:

The Kowloon Motor Bus Company has ordered

110 new double decker buses from Leyland valued at

£5.5 million.

Citibus took delivery in June 1989 of 12 air-conditioned three-axle, double decker buses from

Leyland. This order was worth £1.2 million.

In August 1969 Citibus placed a £1.6 million order for a further 12 buses to be delivered in 1990.

It placed a further order, worth £3.6 million,

for 24 similar vehicles.

£ Construction: British firms were involved in the construction of the Eastern Harbour Crossing, a road and rail tunnel built across Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour between 1986 and 1989 at a total cost of £283 million. The tunnel was completed under budget and six months ahead of time. Lilley of Britain had a 4.625% equity in the total project. Electrical and mechanical equipment contracts worth £16.7 million were awarded to GEC.

Trafalgar House has an equity share in the multi-million pound contract for the Tate's Cairn Tunnel which will connect Sha Tin new town with Kowloon and the Eastern Harbour Crossing. GEC has been awarded
