1. I attach a draft reply to the letter and attachments from the
Rt Hon Michael Heseltine MP. This queried the figures given in
the reply to a PQ tabled by the Member and answered on 20
February.
2. The reply takes the line that the figures given in the PQ
answer were appropriate though only part of the picture. In line
with the intervening correspondence, it is accepted that UK
commercial interests in Hong Kong are more extensive.
3. The reply has been agreed with Mr Turner EA2/HMT.
