During the CPU's

investigation

became

apparent that the BTC

of this topic, it

would make a very useful

contribution in monitoring UK business activities in the

territory.

То some extent, the BTC can be expected to obtain a

greater flow of information from UK companies as a result of

the establishment of a distinct British Chamber of

given the importance of the UK

Commerce.

However,

connection politically,

as

well as the

considerable

misunderstandings which exist about UK-Hong Kong ties, it

ought to be

encouraged

also to take the initiative in

collecting

information as comprehensively as possible on UK

investments, contracts and other sources of earnings.
