1. The PUS will be hosting a lunch for the Chiefs of Staff on Monday 5 November in his office. The FCO team will comprise the Under Secretaries to whom this is copied. understand that the MOD team this time will be CDS, VCDS, CNS, CGS, CAS and Sir Michael Quinlan.

The PUS does not propose to set a precise agenda for discussion over lunch. He would, however, be grateful for a note of any particular defence-related points that it might be useful to raise with the Chiefs of Staff. It would be helpful if the note could reach this office by 1500 on Friday 2 November.
