Support Costs

Costs incurred for:

́ (1) Identification of ship fit and recommendations for spares,

NOTE:

stores and Ancillary Support Equipment.

(2) Procurement, packaging and delivery of initial On-Board

spares/stores and on-Board Ancillary Support Equipment.

(3) Technical Publications.

(4) Weapon System training facility at HMS CAMBRIDGE.

(5) Depot Test Equipment.

(6) First-Off Costs for weapons system relating to portable

Weather Station, transport rig for Hong Kong base, lifting

gear, interspaces.

(7) Engineering support for main weapons systems including

system evaluation and ammunition safety trials.

(8) Initial provision of Ships' Sea store outfit and ammunition.

(9) Oto Melara gun system at Hong Kong base.

The Ministry of Defence (Navy) will procure the initial and back-up

support under a separate contract with the UK Shipbuilder and associated

contractors to cover the first period in service by means of Type B

Support Specification embracing documentation spares, stores, technical publications and Ancillary Support Equipment. A proportion of the costs

estimated at £1 Million at February 1981 prices, will be included in the

Capital Costs (c(1), (2) and (3) above) but the bulk of it (shore stocks of

spares and stores) falls under the heading of Running Costs to be shared un

the DCA.

Comprising:

(1) Ship Weapon system engineering (includes weapon system

extramural design work), based on actual contract cost.
