in his reply to a number of points made by various embers of LegCo in the debate on the Governor's address

he Attorney General wishes to nail some erroneous propositions ut forward by CW Tai concerning sovereignty, consultation nd what the latter described as China's right of veto.

I attach a copy of the relevant part of Tai's statement

and a draft of the Attorney General's reply.

As the reply deals with matters of sovereignty, the JD, JLG etc 1 want to be sure you are comfortable with it. Michael Suen is very happy with my draft. much so, in fact, that he wouldn't himself send a telegram!

So

Jeremy Mathews is to speak on Wednesday (31 October) afternoon. A reply as soon as possible would therefore be appreciated.
