Course I am not so naive as to expect that funding for such a major research innative can be obtained easily or quickly. Nor, I hope, am I so rigid that I cannot recognise too that it maybe desirable, for intellectual or practical reasons, to re-define the initiative in some ways in order to accommodate suggestions which may further enhance the value of the research. It is for such reasons that I should be most grateful for any comments and advice which you may be able to give. I realise of course that your daily schedule must be a heavy one, but I wonder whether you might be prepared to discuss the CCI plans with me at some point. I would be happy to do my best to fit in with any times and dates you might suggest.
