Attached is a copy of our standard letter giving advice on acquiring and installing a facsimile machine. If you are able to operate within the guidelines laid down in this letter then accept this as authority to proceed, charging cost of purchase and installation to ISD(0) Subhead Al(1) (R) (5)B. Maintenance and running costs should be met from local budget.

ISD(0) prefer Posts to purchase machines locally to ensure on-the-spot servicing. Therefore we recommend that you purchase a machine from a company which offers the best maintenance back-up.

After installation please advise ISD(0) of the details requested in para 5 of accompanying letter.
