ASIASAT: UK/PRC AGREEMENT ON LIABILITY

Following our conversations on 21 February about the draft text for inclusion in the Exchange of Notes attached to Mr Milne's (BNSC) minute of 21 February, I attach a clean version of an alternative text incorporating your suggestions. You may wish to discuss the proposed amendments direct with Mrs Darvell.

1.

When we have agreed the text of the draft Exchange of Notes we will need to send it to Peking by telegram with instructions. I attach a draft telegram setting out background and instructions. The text of the Notes would make up an Immediately Following Telegram.

2.

Other addressees may wish to comment on the content or form of the draft texts for the Exchange of Notes or on the draft telegram.
