Further to the agreed line between the Hong Kong Government and the FCO on the extension of the
K Outer Space Act to Hong Kong, we are very grateful for your help in the licensing of the first AsiaSat satellite in such a right timescale
To facilitate the smooth processing of the licensing for AsiaSat I and to acquire experience with a view to setting up a licensing system in Hong Kong later. I plan to send a senior officer from the Post Office to be attached to BNSC during the next few weeks. He will be able to assist in the quick provision of local knowledge and information and, at the same time, to work out a proposed licensing system for Hong Kong together with the BNSC. If necessary, we shall send more support staff regarding the last aspect.
I should be grateful if you would let me know your views on the proposed attachment.
Yours
sincerely.
