several. The Secretary of State may, however, release or

compound with any one or more of such persons jointly and

severally liable without in any way releasing or

affecting the liability of the others.]

14. Interpretation

14.1

In this Licence, the headings are inserted for

convenience only and shall not affect its

interpretation or construction.

14.2

Words and phrases defined in the Act shall, except

where the context indicates to the contrary, bear

the same meaning where they are used in this

Licence.

14.3

In this Licence the following words shall, except so

far as the context otherwise requires, bear the

meanings respectively set against them: -

"the Act" means the Outer Space Act 1986 as

extended to Hong Kong by the Outer Space Act

(Hong Kong) Order 1990 (S. I. 1990/

subject to the exceptions and modifications

specified in the Schedule thereto.

"the Licensed Activities" means those

activities specified in Condition 2 of this

Licence or any variation thereof.
