List of Bilateral Treaties with USA Applying to Hong Kong
Based on the papers available in
our
bilateral (Enclosure
division, I have prepared a list of treaties with USA applying to Hong Kong 1). The list was handed over to a staff member of the US Consulate-General in September 1990 for the purpose of trying to establish a "common" list of bilateral agreements on which both sides could agree.
In return, the Americans presented us with their own list (Enclosure 2) which was based on Our list and the treaties information that they had published in "Treaties in Force" (Enclosure 3). As we may not have sufficient information to verify the treaties information provided by the Americans, I should be grateful if you could give us your comments on the treaties information contained in Parts II and III of the American list (Enclosure 2).
