HK pensions fall below the sterling value of equivalent UK

and civil service pensions. CSB want to convince us otherwise. For the record

I attach their paper an

Itrocs pensions,

I have advised CSB to extend the deadline for transfers

to the permanent establishment for one year to March 1992.

They understand this but will only do so nearer March 1991.

I have also outlined our plans to consult the Chinese, which

they find sensible.

5.

I recommend we get Shipley in to London soon in

November.

We have at least a year's work ahead before we

might be able to go public.
