urpose of this letter.
I should be most grateful if you would confirm that no weight will in future be given to such misleading comparisons. The Hong Kong Government and H.M. G have an undeniable joint and several responsibility to find a way to maintain the sterling purchasing power of Hong Kong Government pensions paid to former civil servants resident in this country. The search for a solution to this problem should not be distracted by misleading comparisons and dare I say it, unjustified envy.
