The situation in Hong Kong is therefore not identical to that of those former British territories which moved towards independence. But the Government fully appreciate that the matters you raise are of considerable concern to HMOCS members in Hong Kong. We are giving very careful thought to how we can most appropriately meet these concerns. We are not yet in a position to make an announcement but intend to do so as soon as possible.
