Consultation with Advisory Bodies
38.
The proposed changes tc civil service dependant
Pensions and related benefits, as approved by ExCo., will
be referred Co the four advisory bodies on civil service
salaries and conditions of service for advice.
Consultation with the Chinese
39.
Making the dependant pension schemes voluntary
would reduce Government's long term pension liability, and
the other proposed changes would only have minor financial
implications for the future HKSAR. Having regard to the
uncontroversial nature of the proposals, it is
unnecessary to formally consult the Chinese.
The Chinese would, however, be informed of the proposed
changes before they are implemented.
