Thank you for your letter of 22 May. As you know I have long been a believer in ex-Senior British Trade Commissioners from Hong Kong finding gainful employment. Not least because their past life style normally requires it!
2. By coincidence we in PEP had already thought of Derek as a potential adviser to the UK Airports Group and had mentioned it to Bill Ballard, their Chairman. Ballard has responded favourably and is in touch with Derek, to whom I have also spoken. Let us hope that a marriage takes place. The UK Airports Group could undoubtedly benefit from Derek's knowledge and relationships within the Hong Kong Government and the
commercial world.
