5 § Efficiency Bar, which does not apply to officers on agreement terms.

(b) Non-pensionable education allowances to overseas officers for a maximum of 4 children between the ages of 9 and 19 under-going full-time secondary education in a boarding school (or in exceptional cases a day school) in the officer's country of origin as declared and accepted by Government for leave and passage purposes. The allowances will be at whatever rates provided under the B.S.S. from time to time.

Note: Education allowances are payable from the date of an officer's

appointment.

Education allowances do not count as part of salary for any purpose (e.g. gratuity, points for quarters, passages, etc.)

All salaries and allowances paid in Hong Kong are subject to Hong Kong Salaries Tax.

11. INCREMENTS FOR EXPERIENCET: No increments for experience may be granted.

Increments for experience may be granted on the following basis:

(i) one increment for every completed year/2 years of relevant

experience in excess of entry requirements; or NA
