Messrs Glover and Li had described was naturally a matter of

concern to HMG. However as far as the current issues of pay and conditions were concerned, such matters should be settled in Hong Kong, between the Police Staff Associations

and the Hong Kong authorities. He confirmed that

Lord Caithness would have an opportunity to listen to the

Associations' concerns when he met the Associations' representatives together with other Civil Service representatives in his forthcoming visit to Hong Kong.
