In recent years the RHKP has suffered from an increasing overall wastage rate.

Overall wastage is broken down into several component parts:
scheduled wastage - retirements, completion of contract; and
non-scheduled wastage - resignations, transfers to other Government
Departments, Early Retirements (the three
collectively are termed 'premature wastage'), and
Death, Dismissal, Invaliding, etc.,
Closer examination of Wastage figures shows a disturbing trend - non-scheduled
wastage, in particular the premature wastage of Constables, is increasing significantly.
