We recommend for the approval of the Secretary of State for Foreign and

Commonwealth Affairs the enrolment of Mr B V Williams, Senior Inspector of Police, as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service. His application is attached.

Mr Williams, born on 7 March 1959, is on Overseas conditions of service. He was recruited in Hong Kong as Inspector of Police in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force probationary terms on 5 December 1977 when the normal channel of recruitment of overseas Inspectors was through the Hong Kong Government Office in London. A copy of the letter of appointment Ref. WIL/BV/2 dated 25.11.1977 is attached. He was confirmed to the permanent establishment on 5.12.1980 and

was promoted to his present rank of Senior Inspector of Police on 5 December 1982.
