for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs the enrolment of Mr M Fitall, Senior Inspector of Police, as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service. His application is attached.

Mr Fitall was born on 5 May 1958. He was recruited as an Inspector of Police in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force on agreement terms on 17 August 1979 through the Hong Kong Government Office in London. A copy of the letter PI/79/1/5 dated 21 March 1979 from the Hong Kong Government Office, London offering him appointment is attached. He was promoted to Senior Inspector on 1 May 1985 and was checked allowed to transfer to the permanent establishment on 22 November 1989.

We should be grateful if the approval of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs could be obtained for the enrolment of Mr Fitall as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service.
