Dear
Mr. Taylo
I am writing on behalf of the Committee of the Expatriate Inspectors" Association (EIA) as we are aware you
have taken an interest in matters of concern to us and we hope this letter may result in you continuing that interest.
Enclosed is a copy of a written submission presented to the Foreign Secretary when he visited Hong Kong in January 1990 together with copies of follow up letters stressing the urgency of the need for replies to our questions. I wish to assure you that the tenor of my last letter to the Foreign Secretary, dated 12th. March, is not over dramatic and the concerns we have voiced are very real. Failure to resolve them will only hasten departures from Hong Kong which will exerbate the already severe recruitment and retention problems faced by the Force.
I trust that these papers are of interest to you and I would request that, if you consider it appropiate, you pursue the matter on our behalf since in your earlier action more results were generated in a few weeks than the Hong Kong Government has achieved in the corresponding amount of years!
The EIA Committee will be only to happy to supply any further information you may wish and we will be most grateful for any assistance you can render.
Yours sincerely
I!
