The Austrian Ambassador presents his compliments to Her
Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and
Commonwealth Affairs and has the honour to inform Mr. Douglas
Hurd that the Austrian Federal Government has given its
approval to the appointment of Minister Dr. Heinrich QUERNER as
Consul General at Hongkong. Pending the Commission of
Appointment by the Austrian Federal President the Austrian
Ambassador would be grateful if the Foreign and Commonwealth
Office could give its provisional recognition to Dr. Querner as
Austrian Consul General at Hongkong.
The Austrian Ambassador avails himself of this opportunity
to renew to the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth
Affairs the assurance of his highest consideration.
