The Portuguese Ambassador presents his compli-
ments to Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign and
Commonwealth Affairs and has the honour to state that the
Portuguese Government wishes to appoint Senhor Filipe Orlando
de Albuquerque as Consul-General (de carriere) in Hong-Kong.
The Portuguese Ambassador would be grateful
if Her Majesty's Secretary of State would be so good as to
cause the necessary steps to be taken with a view to the
provisional recognition of Senhor Filipe de Albuquerque in
that capacity, pending the submission of his commission of
appointment and the request for Her Majesty's "exequatur".
Senhor Filipe de Albuquerque curriculum vitae is enclosed.
The Portuguese Ambassador avails himself of
this opportunity to renew to Her Majesty's Secretary of
State for Foreign Affairs the assurances of his highest
consideration.
