I refer to your letter of 19 March Len concerning visa problems of Mr Brennan's Polish wife and son.
We have referred your case to the Director of Immigration and have also spoken to the Officer-in-Charge of Visa Control. The Hong Kong Government does not as yet have an open policy towards the admission of East European nationals and visas will only be approved for work related purposes only. The applications from Mrs Jolanta Pieniazek-Majerska and her son were rejected under the current policy governing the admission of such
nationala.
