(ii) In the case of most East European countries we require 14 working days to process short term visas. The Security Service consider that there would be serious practical difficulties in trying to carry out the necessary screening checks within ten working days as proposed by Hong Kong.
The attached telegram incorporates these points, together with other self explanatory points of detail raised by the relevant Departments.
