Invitation of Proposals
To call for proposals for the LFC franchise. The LFC is part of the PADS scheme, which the Chinese are still studying.
To meet the target opening date of the Chek Lap Kok airport in early 1997, proposals must be invited in October 1990 for bids to return by March 1991.
As part of the ongoing
concern on PADS.

Land grant for the future British Consulate General (BCG) and the
Chinese MFA office in Hong Kong
To secure Chinese agreement to the land grant for the BCG and to process the land grant for the MFA office in parallel.
UKREP JLG and Barnes
(Senior Representative of the British side of the Land Commission) have informally spoken to their opposite numbers. A paper on the proposed BCG land grant will be put to the Land Commission towards the end of the year. On the proposed MFA office land grant, the Chinese side are expected to approach us shortly.
