On two consecutive days last week we were badly let down by your press cutting service. On both occasions the omissions were from the Financial Times, a newspaper of obvious importance. One was an article by John Elliot on the Hong Kong airport project (October 11) and the other was a front page item on a possible merger between the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank and the Midland Bank (October 12). In both cases the articles were of real operational importance.
I realise of course that the occasional lapse in a service like yours is sometimes unavoidable, but these are not the only instances that have come to my notice over the past months although they are two of the more glaring ones.
Obviously a press cutting service has to be reliable in order to be worth having. I should be grateful, therefore, if you could try to ensure that appropriate improvements are made.
Yours Sincerely Plan Parc
A R Paul
