You raised with me some time ago the question of whether it would be advisable for the Goethe Institute and the German School in Hong Kong to be coverd by an extension to our Cultural Convention or by a separate agreement. I am sorry not to have reverted sooner.
We have taken this matter up with the Hong Kong Government, who have been considering the implications of concluding a separate agreement. I understand that the Hong Kong Government will shortly be contacting the German Consulate in Hong Kong to discuss this matter in more detail. responsible official in the Hong Kong Government is Mr P D W Bourton, who is the Principal Assistant Secretary for Recreation and Culture.
