8. Powers

The trustees should have all the normal powers including the power to collect donations and the power to delegate the operation of the trust to other individuals or bodies, including the power to make payments within the policies prescribed. The cost of such services may be paid by the

Trust.

9.

The Fund

It is intended that the Fund be held in Hong Kong and managed by professional advisers. However, the deed should allow funds to be held and managed elsewhere if subsequently considered desirable by the Trustees.

10.

Patrons

It is intended the Trustees be able to appoint Patrons of the Trust in view either of their large contributions to the Fund or of personal knowledge and connections useful to the Trust. Such Patrons would have no legal liability for the operation of the Trust but would lend their names' and act as (unpaid) advisers and helpers from time to time.

11.

Administration

It is expected that administration of the Trust will be by the British Council in Hong Kong. The likely mode of operation will be for twice-yearly meetings of Trustees at which the policy for the subsequent period will be set and authority delegated to the Council to carry it out. Reports will be presented at subsequent meetings to show that the policy has been properly carried out.
