Mr Maude to consider going to Geneva to see Stoltenberg on Monday; I am pursuing this with Private Office.

Ask UKMIS Geneva to let us know as soon as possible when and in what terms President Bush replies to Stoltenberg.

Find out from Washington whether they have yet made their demarche about US funding for UNHCR and, if not, instruct them to toughen up their approach in view of the US talking points faxed to us from Hong Kong.
