Further to our faxed comments on the Amnesty Inter- national' Memorandum, we would like to ascertain whether all persons arriving at UK ports of entry and seeking political asylum are given legal aid or other free legal assistance; and whether their lawyers are entitled to

sit in on all interviews by immigration officers; and

take an active part in the conduct of the inter- view.

On RSRB procedures, please omit the reference to RSRB exercising its discretion much more liberally than junior Immigration Officers.
