Group I
Boatmaster : VONG A UNG
All participants are close relatives. The itinerary in Vietnam was arranged by a VN/M VONG TAI who lived in THI TRAN, TIEN YEN and was a friend of the boatmaster. They started their journey at HO CHI MINH CITY and made brief stops at HA NOI and HAI PHONG. They reached TIEN YEN on 6-4-90 and took three days rest as the boatmaster was injured in an accident. Their next stop was MONG GAI where they were intercepted by V.N. officials. 0.8 tael of gold was collected before they could be released. They then went to DONG XING (
) by small boat at the price of RMB $5. During their stay at (E WIT BEN , they employed a local called
) who escorted them to ZHU JIANGL ). The party set off on 20-4-90 and made brief stops at FENG CHENG ($)

) at a price of RMB $4,250. At 0300 hrs the next day, they set sail for their destination and were first intercepted by Hong Kong Marine Police on 26-4-90.

HUA QIAO TEA PLANTATION FARM (韶關英德縣英雄华侨農場

Subject was an ECVII. He migrated to China in 1980 and stayed at SHAO GUAN YINGDE XIAN YING XIONG
). He was invited by the boatmaster to join the exodus and was a steersman on the junk. This was his third attempt to look for refugee status. In 1987, he first entered Hong Kong and left as a 'Millport case. However, the effort was in vain as the sailing junk was not seaworthy when they reached FU KIEN (). The second attempt was made in 1988. Subject was identified as an ECVII and subsequentlt repatirated back to China.
