Informant : PHUNG TO VINH

This family of four were residents in HA TUYEN, N.VN. They moved to YUNNAN, CHINA for better living in FEB 1988. However, their applications for residence were turned down and were forced to

return to Vietnam. In addition, their re-entry to Vietnam were denied by V.N. goɣernment. Since then, they used to stay with their relatives in YUNNAN and GUANGXI (address : 云南省富宁具金壩林場五一分場 and 南宁市建设路南五里55号 ). In FEB. this year, they got acquainted with the courier 'LAI'

and planned to come to Hong Kong. They joined group I at NA LI FARM on 20-4-90 and shared the same itinerary.

Additional Information

Two had knowledge of the screening policy before sailing through radio.

Two had knowledge of the mandatory repatriation before departure through radio.

Three stopovers in China.

None had heard of the news that they would be placed on a deserted island after their arrival in Hong Kong.

The vessel was bought from a Mr. CHAN in China. The number of the boat was unknown no Chinese officials were involved.
