Description of Voyage

Boatmaster : LY VAN NHI

This group of 26 left HO CHI MINH by ferry on 12-4-90 and arrived at HAI PHONG two days later. After an overnight rest, they took a bus to HONG GAI where they stayed 4 days. During their stay, they met a VN/M courier who agreed to escort them to China at a cost of 50,000 Dongs per head. Subsequently, they passed the Sino-Vietnamese border via hill path of HAI NINH and then called at DONG XING() of China. Another ECV/M courier in name of 'AH SINH' (阿生 ) approached them and finally made a deal with them charging from RMB $300 to RMB $700 per head for guiding them to PING SHA ( 1; ) of

GUANG DỌNG and providing an escape boat. They had to stay at FANG CHENG (F) for 10 days awaiting the courier's arrangement of the escape boat.
