These 17 persons departed HO CHI MINH CITY, S.VN for HA NOI by train on 31-3-90. Three days later, they came to HA NOI and made a 2-day stopover. On 5-4-90, they reached LANG SON and immediately approached the border check point. Each adult had to pay 1,000 Dongs and RMB $1 to the Vietnamese and Chinese officials respectively before they were allowed to cross the frontier. The whole

party soon arrived at PING XIANG (1 ) of China and proceeded to FU SUI XIAN (扶緩將 ) by bus in the same night. Having stayed at their relatives' house (Address: 而長溝侨農場 ), they moved on by bus to

theat

ZHEN JIANG (FIL ) and finally reached JING AN (# SAN HUI (新會

) and DOUMEN (PEJ

) on 8-4-90 via ). During their stay at JING AN, they managed to purchase the exodus' junk at a cost of 5.4 taels of gold. They then set sail on 10-4-90 and made an over-night rest at an unknown place. On 11-4-90, they touched Macao where they encountered another VN junk (i.e. VRD 48/90). They were directed their way to Hong Kong by Macao Marine Police in the following morning and eventually entered Hong Kong waters several hours later.
