Subject left Ho Chi Minh, S. VN. with her sister in April 1989 intending to go to Hong Kong. the assistance of a Vietnamese courier called 'ONG BAC TAI', they went to MONGCAI via HANOI. They crossed the Sino-Vietnamese border and arrived at DONGXING (), CHINA. They joined a group of 17 Vietnamese and proceeded to JIANG PING (1). The party bought a boat there and started their voyage to Hong Kong. After sailing for three days, the engine broke down and they stranded at an unknown beach. They tried to repair the engine but was in vain. Thereafter, the party scattered on their own and the sisters went to find their friend澤太鴻 (Address:川、中山七路、四十號 ). They stayed there until August when they knew about another exodus at PING SHA (). They joined the group of about 20 Vietnamese. However, they could not proceed any further after reaching Macao. The strong wind even drove them back to ZHU HAI (). Again
They were later approached by a woman (name unknown) through

With the financial support from her uncle in USA, subject accepted the offer and left her sister behind in China for safty reasons. She finally managed to arrive in Hong Kong via KUNG PAI (6) and Macao on 20-01-1990 by her forged Singaporean passport. When attempting to depart Hong Kong for Canada on 31-1-90, she was intercepted by immigration officers at the airport.
