Description of Voyage

informant : CHAU PHU CUONG

These two VBP were landcrossers from Vietnam to China. The trip was organized by a Chinese courier named 'THANII' who lived in S.VN. 'THANII' charged ench of them 2.5 Laels of gold. On 8-2-90, the party of three left HO CHI MINH and went to NIA NO1 by train. 'THANI!' Jeft them for personal business and returned one week later. On 8-2- 90, the three continued their journey. They took a bus to DONG BANG via LANG SON. On the following day, they crossed the Sino-Vietnamese land border and arrived at PENG XIANG 2 #1. (

Some money was paid to the border official at both sides but the mount was unknown. They went to LUNG ZHOU (# 州 ) and then NAN NING (南寧 I where they stayed for two days. On 24-2-90, they reached GUANG ZHOU (A MH) by bus and stayed at a house near the pier. Besides these two Var, there were a total of 16 others awaiting in the house. In the same evening, all 18 of them were taken to a pier where a boat was berthing. Before boarding the boat, Læg VBP were warned by 'THANI}' that they had to claim that they were Chinese resi- deuts of DONG QUAN (

if the boat was intercepted by Hong Kong Marine Police. He also promisel to renrrange their passage to II.K.after their repatriation.
