The exodus was on;nized by the boatmaster himself who recruited his relatives and olanumen to join the trip. The whole group of 26 people left IO CHI MINH, S. Vil for HA NOI, H.VN by train on 8-10-89. They arrived at II III by bus on 13-10-89 via HONG GAI. There they lived in a small inn for nearly a month as they were not familiar with the way to China. Having directed by the local folls, they started their journey egain on 15-11-89. Aftor passing the Sino-Vietnamogo Boider successfully without paying money, they headed thoir way to DONG XING (199). There they stayed in the house of boatmaster's distent relatives for 5 days in order to find their way to llong Kong. Deing directed by the looal residents, they arrived at INJA SIEK OVERSEA CHTISC FARM (74) on 26-11-89.

CHUNG brought Group Il to the boatmaster and asked him to take them to long Kong. Since Ir. CHUNG claimed that Group II was his distant relatives, the boatmaster did not demand any money from roup II. With the direction of Mr. CIUI, the combined group of 28 poople went to SIL CHENG (#) on 4-12-89 via ZULAN JIANU (ZZ) and GUMI: ZUCU (). With the assistance of Mr. CIUC, they bought a Chinese junk with a 12 il.P. engine at a cost of MMB 3000 and 0.5 tael of gold.
