This group of 15 left HAM YEN, HA TUYEN, N.VN. on 13-11-89 by bus. sneaked through the Sino-Vietnam border at night via DONG VAN and arrived at MA LI BO(麻栗坡) of YUN NAN (雲南 Į on 16-11-89. After an overnight rest, they proceeded by bus to FU LING() where they stayed at their relatives' home for 16 days until the PRC officials ordered them to go back to Vietnam, However, they carried on their exodus and finally called at BEI HAI ( 海 > on 7-12-89. During their stay, they met Group II (6 persons) who promised to contribute to a total sum of 3 taels of gold for purchasing a Chinese motorized boat.

Subsequently, the newly combined gruop of 21 set sail on 9-12-89. Three days later, they came to HAI AN() where PRC officials inspected them but did not allow them to stay. Therefore, they continued their journey and called at WAI LUO ( 9. * ) on 13-12-89. Owing to engine problem, they had to stay

9 days. On 22-12-89, they took shelter form strong wind for 8 days until 30-12-89.
