RULE 510

Existing Rule 510C - Commanding Officers may authorise Servicemen to carry small arms. Commanders may authorise serviceman to carry live ammunition but weapons must not be loaded unless there is a specific armed threat (JSP 385 and 386

refer)

Proposed Rule 510D For non-automatic weapons (Pistols, SLR,

SA 80) only.

Commanding Officers may authorise Servicemen to carry small

arms. Commanding Officers may authorise Servicemen to carry

live ammunition and weapons may be loaded (JSP 385 and 386

refer).

RULE 590

Proposed Rule 590B

Display of small arms in the presence of, but not towards, hostile or potentially hostile forces is

permitted. [ NB This is additional to existing 590C for the

maintenance of radar contact only.]

RULE 550

Existing

Rule 550A Any action which might conceivably be

construed as harassment is prohibited.

Proposed Rule 550C Screening of an RHKP vessel or a Hong

Kong registered vessel from harassment by physical interposition

of a friendly unit is permitted.
