According to the nascent, newspaper The European", a pirate radio ship named "The Goddess of Democracy" is about to sail from Marseille to Hong Kong. It is due to arrive in Hong Kong about 20 April. The intention is that it will broadcast - presumably in international waters off the coast of China. It will beam, as befits its name, messages of "democracy". The star of the show will be one of the students who escaped from China after Tiananmen Square. He is apparently now resident in France but my informant did not know his name.
