I felt that you would like to have copy of a letter which I have written to-day to the Chinese Ambassador here.

Swires are, you know, concerned at the slow progress of the A.S.A. separation process and I hope that our initiative with the Chinese may give a helpful nudge, without in any way crossing the wires with your own F.C.O. initiatives.
