recruited 140 aircraft engineers from Hong Kong. The Governor of Hong Kong and the High Commissioner in Canberra suggested to the Australian authorities that such action was not supportive. The Australian Government did not have any direct authority over QANTAS but the word appears to have got through because QANTAS ceased poaching.
